Penguin Drawing for Kids in 10 easy steps

Today I will show you how to draw a cute penguin for kids. Penguins are probably one of the cutest animal on earth and luckily I have a tutorial showing how to draw one.

Step by Step Penguin Drawing Instructions

Penguins are one of the most popular animals to draw. If you have never drawn a penguin before, here is our step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a penguin. Also check our coloring pages if you are interested in penguin coloring pages.

STEP 1

Draw the basic shape of the penguin. Start by drawing the head, which will be your main focus. Next draw the body, neck and legs. Use soft pencils for this part of the drawing as you do not want to put too much pressure on it. Also make sure that your penguin is looking straight ahead and not at an angle so that you get a more realistic look to it. When you are done with this step, take a break and come back to this step later when you are ready to add some details on the penguin’s body.

STEP 2

Now start drawing details on the head of your penguin such as its beak, eyes and nose. It will also help if you sketch in some facial features such as wrinkles around his eyes or lips. Next draw in some feathers around his head using soft pencils or markers as well as some small white dots for his eye shine or eyeshine. Finally draw out more feathers on top of his head using darker pencils and markers so that they stand out more from each other. When you are done with this step, take a break and come back to this step later when you are ready to add more details on your penguin’s face such as its eye color or nose shape etc…
